Rare and Stunning Chrysanthemum Stone Pendant Necklace with Zebra Stone Beads

This beautiful stone comes from Asia, and you don't see them too often. They come from mostly from China.. Although the regions they are found has expanded, I still don't see them very often, at least not really nice ones like this one. It is polished and on the front and the design goes clear through the stone, something that isn't always the case. I wrapped it with stainless steel wire, and the beads of the necklace are from the lovely black and white zebra stone.

The stone is 1.98" x 1.65" x .39". With the bail it is 2.8" long. It is wrapped with jewelry grade, stainless steel...so that it will never tarnish. The necklace length is 17" with a 2" extender on it. That can be adjusted per your request.

Science & Myth

Chrysanthemum stones were first discovered over 200 years ago in China and it is also the official symbol of the Chinese imperial family. They were first formed over 250 million years ago, in what is now considered to be the Permian Age. During the Permian Age, thick layers of mud settled on the bottom of the sea. This mud was full of organic material, and calcite and celestite formed within the muck on the sea floor. As the layers of mud were compressed and hardened, and more mud layered atop more mud, the celestite and calcite deposits grew outward in radial patterns in the solidifying limestone. The flower on the chrysanthemum stone is made up of celestite, calcite, andalusite or feldspar, though celestite and calcite are most common. They grew against a base of black limestone, dolomite or gypsum.

It is said that the flower pattern on the chrysanthemum stone represents the burst of energy that is love and joy and abundance. It inspires you to start new paths in life (such as a career or relationship), and bestows lucky opportunities along the chosen path. With this in mind, chrysanthemum stone is a traditional gift for people starting out on new paths, ventures, or relationships. It makes a fantastic wedding gift or graduation gift. Chrysanthemum is a lucky stone that brings opportunities and helps dispel jealousy and resentment from within, leaving only joy and possibility.

Whether the effects of stones and crystals such as this are real or merely a placebo effect is unknown. All we know for certain is that the use of gemstones in healing goes back centuries. And we know that modern science has discovered some surprising applications for the unique properties of certain crystals as all stones and crystals are made up of the same things that make up our bodies!
